State Duma factions discussed draft federal budget for 2024–2026

The factions of the State Duma of the Russian Federation discussed the draft federal budget for 2024–2026, reports the press service of the Russian parliament. Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov answered the questions of the deputies. The majority faction - United Russia - announced unanimous support for the draft main financial document in the first reading.

Representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party also expressed support. The draft budget is designed to meet the northern districts' needs and preserve the state's social obligations, the faction noted. As Kaplan Panesh, deputy chairman of the committee on budget and taxes, said, his faction will vote for the draft budget and “will continue to work systematically.”

In addition, the deputies previously discussed at a meeting with Anton Siluanov the questions that will be asked in the meeting room. They discussed the optimization of tax legislation, possible redistribution of income, and guarantees of the rights of certain social categories.

The “New People” faction, during a meeting with the head of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, outlined the main directions of joint work.

During a meeting with the “A Just Russia - For Truth” faction, Anton Siluanov, in particular, said that the draft budget provides for significant expenses in the “National Defense and Security” section.

According to Anton Siluanov, in 2024, it is planned to index pensions by 7.5%, ensure the payment of salaries to public sector employees, taking into account the growth of the wage fund, as well as all social benefits, maternity capital - in a word, everything that is guaranteed by federal legislation.

The deputies asked the Minister of Finance their questions and commented on the draft budget. According to the first deputy chairman of the Committee on Budget and Taxes, Alexander Remezkov, the faction, in particular, does not support the budget rule and tax maneuver and will not vote for the draft federal budget for 2024–2026.

Denis Parfyonov, a member of the Committee on Budget and Taxes from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation faction, also said that when developing the draft budget, the government did not consider the faction’s proposal to fill the revenue side of the budget.
