Government has submitted budget draft for 2024-2026 to State Duma

The bill on the federal budget for 2024 and for the planning period of 2025 and 2026 has been sent for consideration by the State Duma, the press service of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers reported.

When forming the new three-year budget draft, the government traditionally proceeded from the need to fulfill social obligations to citizens and solve the problems outlined by the president.

Thus, one of the main priorities is targeted support for pregnant women and families with children. In particular, 4.4 trillion rubles are provided for the payment of a single benefit for 2024-2026. This will provide benefits to more than 10 million citizens.

About 1.6 trillion rubles are planned to provide maternal capital, more than 482 billion rubles for programs to improve housing provision for families with children.

Under the social contract program, the draft budget provides over 100 billion rubles to support citizens in difficult situations.

The necessary funds are also planned for such vital areas as hot meals for schoolchildren, payments to class teachers, significant repairs and construction of new educational institutions, drug provision for beneficiaries, and social gasification.

The draft budget was compiled based on the basic version of the socio-economic development forecast. It implies a transition to strong economic growth in 2024 at above 2%.

Revenues in 2024 will amount to 35.0 trillion rubles, 33.5 trillion rubles in 2025, and 34.1 trillion rubles in 2026.

Federal budget expenditures in 2024 are planned at 36.6 trillion rubles, 34.4 trillion rubles in 2025, and 35.6 trillion rubles in 2026.

Draft budgets of extra-budgetary funds and some other documents of decisive importance for public finances have also been sent to the lower house of parliament.

This year’s budget package was submitted entirely electronically for the first time. This results from work to improve interaction between the Government Office and the State Duma.
