By decree of the Russian President on September 4, 47 doctors from Bashkiria were awarded the Luka Krymsky medal. These are employees of the Kuvatov Regional Clinical Hospital, the Republican Cardiocenter, the BSMU clinic, and city and regional hospitals. All of them were part of medical teams working in the Lugansk People's Republic, the press service of the Republican Ministry of Health told Bashinform News Agency.
As the Bashinform News Agency previously reported, since last year, Bashkir doctors have been traveling to the Lugansk Republic, a new region of the Russian Federation, to help the local population and military personnel. In addition, a medical company was created under the Bashkortostan regiment, which included 50 medical workers, orderlies, and drivers.
The Luka Krymsky Medal is awarded by the head of state for services in health care - as a rule, to practicing doctors and named in honor of the outstanding surgeon, Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimea Luka. The award was established in 2020 along with the Order of Pirogov.
“The Luka Krymsky Medal is a very honorable state award. Today, it is awarded to our medical workers who were not afraid and were among the first to go to the Lugansk People's Republic to help the civilian population. They also had visits to the soldiers of the Bashkir battalions. Our doctors, paramedics, and nurses selflessly fulfilled their professional duty, helping everyone needing medical care,” Republican Minister of Health Ayrat Rakhmatullin commented.
