

The President of the Russian Federation signed a decree increasing the age limit for granting a deferment from conscription for military service for IT specialists. From 27 years old, it was raised to 30 years old. The amendment was made to the decree on measures to ensure the accelerated development of the information technology industry in the Russian Federation. The changes will come into force on January 1, 2024.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, Maksut Shadayev, stated that the department was preparing proposals to adjust the age for granting deferments to conscripts. Before this, Putin signed a law establishing the conscription age for military service from 18 to 30 years.
