Prime Minister of Bashkiria Andrey Nazarov said on his social media that a working trip of the official delegation of Bashkiria to Kazakhstan would take place in a week. The business meeting will be held in Astana.
“We will sum up some results and outline new ways of comprehensive cooperation. Kazakhstan is the most important foreign economic partner of Bashkortostan. In the foreign trade turnover in 2022, Kazakhstan took second place with a share of 9.1%, and in the first 5 months of this year, the trade turnover was at the level of $194.7 million, which is more than last year. Moreover, the share of exports in it is 86% - a clear indicator of the demand for and competitiveness of our products. Kazakh partners are interested in chemical industry products, which make up almost a third of our deliveries to Kazakhstan. We also send them metals and products from them (14.5% of exports), wood (13.9%), mineral products (9.4%),” Andrey Nazarov wrote.
The Chairman of the Government of Bashkiria noted that in 2023 alone, enterprises of Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan signed 5 agreements on the supply of sugar, whey, soda ash, mineral fertilizers, and packaging. Also, Kazakhstani partners proposed to resume the project to construct a plant to produce insulated wagons and wagon platforms in the region. The planned volume of investments is approximately 2.5 billion rubles. This will create 360 new jobs.
“Humanitarian cooperation between Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan is actively developing. In particular, extensive academic ties have been established between our universities and about a thousand students from Kazakhstan study at our educational institutions. As a result of the previous business trip, a direct flight between Ufa and Astana was launched, and work is underway on the agreements concluded. We are reviewing them, and these days we are working on the scenario of the next business mission. Unfortunately, several planned plans need to be rebooted. Due to the sanctions imposed against Russia, some projects had to be suspended. We have thoroughly revised the cooperation roadmap signed two years ago and adapted it to the current tasks. In agreement with the Kazakh side, we decided to conclude agreements directly with the country's regions,” Nazarov emphasized.
Recall that the Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, was instructed to strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan in the economy and cultural exchange.
Earlier, direct flights to the cities of Kazakhstan became available to residents of Bashkiria, Bashinform News Agency reported.
