Amendment to law on education signed by Vladimir Putin - it concerns attitude of children to work

The new law proposes to supplement "education" with a responsible attitude to work. The law abolishes the rule prohibiting the involvement of students in labor without their consent or the consent of their parents (part 4 of article 34 of the law "On Education in the Russian Federation"). Examples of socially beneficial work include planting trees, flowers on the school grounds, decorating a classroom or school grounds for events, helping out in a library, museum, etc.

The document also states that graduates of the 11th grade who graduated from school with two grades, “good” and the rest “excellent” in the certificate, will receive a medal “For Special Achievements in Teaching”, II degrees, that is, silver.

Another novelty of the law is introducing the concept of career guidance for schoolchildren. The initiative's authors believe that career guidance classes will help schoolchildren choose a profession, for example, thanks to excursions to enterprises. The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation becomes responsible for implementing activities in the school curriculum.

In addition, the law changes the name of the school discipline from "Fundamentals of Life Safety" to "Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland."
