Natalya Kochanova called Russia and Belarus Regions Forum an effective dialogues platform

Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova, at the plenary session of the 10-anniversary forum of the regions of Russia and Belarus, noted the full support of the Heads of State of the forum of regions for 10 years.

“Despite the challenges of today, Belarusians and Russians are firmly confident in the future. The presidents set clear guidelines for the Belarusian-Russian strategic cooperation.”

According to her, integration construction is developing at all levels, the apogee of which is essential for the two countries and ambitious from a geopolitical point of view project as the Union State.

The Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly drew attention to the transformation of the Forum of Regions from an annual event into a large-scale effective dialogue platform and, in general, to the unprecedented dynamics of a partnership between the country’s regions.

“The anniversary forum is a landmark event in the history of parliamentarism, interstate, and interregional cooperation. We are proud of the Forum of Regions. This is a union heritage, an invaluable contribution of current generations to the great future of our countries and peoples”.

In her opinion, the forum has become one of the strong bonds between Belarus and Russia in the economy and the general human sense over the past 10 years.

“This is embodied in the intensification of contacts, the implementation of numerous successful projects, and the steady expansion of areas of cooperation. Every year, the format increases its potential in terms of the party’s interests and achievements. The current Forum of Regions has set new records - about 100 agreements have been signed, and contracts worth about 110 billion Russian rubles have been concluded. But this is not the limit."

Natalya Kochanova urged to focus not so much on the presentation and scaling up of effective solutions but on developing new promising areas, and work approaches that contribute to the qualitative development of regional forums.

“To do this, it is necessary to assess the role and place of interregional cooperation in the Union State system, taking into account the current geopolitical and economic changes that have become irreversible, and also to outline the contours of the road map for joint work through the prism of accumulated experience.”

The Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly thanked the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov for organizing the anniversary forum and the warm welcome.

Cosmonauts Sergey Prokopiev, Dmitry Petelin, and Andrey Fedyaev greeted the participants from the ISS, wishing them fruitful work. “The flight of the first cosmonaut of the Republic of Belarus will take place soon, and we are pleased about it.”
