Ufa will host the 10th Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus from June 26 to June 28. Its theme is "10th Anniversary of the Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus: Results and Prospects". The event is organized by the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, and the government of Bashkiria.
A successful business program awaits participants and guests of the forum. Thus, on June 27, an exhibition of achievements of the national economy of the regions of Russia and Belarus is planned to open in the Toratau congress hall. Further, the work of sectional meetings of the forum is planned, at which critical areas of interaction between friendly states will be discussed. The experts will focus on the results of the decade and prospects in the field of humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, the interaction between the regions of Russia and Belarus, the possibilities of public diplomacy, and the formation of a unified industrial and agricultural policy, the creation of a suitable legal system, volunteerism, tourism development, and other issues.
On the same day, a round table meeting is scheduled to exchange experience in the work of Russian regions with compatriots living abroad. A joint meeting of the governing bodies of the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council and the Youth Council (Parliament) under the National Assembly of Belarus is scheduled. At the same time, a meeting of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Russia and Belarus is expected to be held on the topic “Perspective Directions for the Development of Cooperation between the Business Circles of the Two Countries”.
On June 28, meetings of the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, and the Chairman of the Council of the Republic, Natalia Kochanova, with the heads of state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and regions of the Republic of Belarus are planned. Further, a plenary forum session is scheduled with the participation of heads of ministries and departments, authorities, enterprises and organizations, and representatives of business circles of the two countries. It is planned to sign several intergovernmental and interregional agreements on cooperation.
The forum also provides for other cultural, educational, and sporting events. As previously reported by Bashinform News Agency, about 900 volunteers from different regions of Russia will be attracted to the forum.
