Radiy Khabirov appointed Azamat Abdrakhmanov as Deputy Prime Minister while retaining the Republic’s Government Chief of Staff post.
At the same time, the head of the region removes the status of vice-premier from the head of the embassy in Moscow, so the total number of vice-premier positions remains the same, Bashinform News Agency reports.
Azamat Abdrakhmanov entered the public sphere as the head of the Ishimbay region. He oversaw the attraction of the first investors for one of the most significant projects of Radiy Khabirov - the Alga Special Economic Zone. The experts we interviewed agree that he managed to do a lot quickly, including in the social sphere.
“The appointment is logical. During his work in the Ishimbay district, social facilities were built and repaired there: kindergartens, schools, cultural centers, and medical stations, new roads were updated and built, and gasification occurred. During his six months of work in the Donbas, he built effective relations with the federal center, local authorities, and the military, which helped to quickly resolve operational issues of assistance in restoring peaceful life. It is important to understand here that he spent half a year in the Lugansk region when our regions were starting to work together, this is the most difficult stage, and he passed this test. Largely thanks to his work, the republic is in good standing. His personal qualities and problem-solving ability will be useful in his new position. A person knows how to work on mistakes,” says political scientist Sergei Lavrentiev.
"Regular assignment. First, it fits into the new personnel logic of the Kremlin when one of the selection criteria is effective work in new territories. Here our head, as always, is absolutely in trend. Secondly, this is the strengthening of Radiy Khabirov’s team by a manager who has worked for many years without any complaints and solved all the tasks assigned to him,” says Vladimir Savichev, director of the Institute for Strategic Studies.
Azamat Abdrakhmanov was born on June 26, 1979, in the Kulgunino, Ishimbay region village, and graduated from Bashkir State University as a candidate in legal sciences. He has experience in all branches of government: he worked as a specialist in the State Committee for Youth Policy, Legal Management and Human Resources of the Administration of the President of Bashkortostan, and for eight years, he was deputy head of the secretariat of the State Assembly - Kurultai of the Republic of Bashkortostan on legal issues, in 2019 he headed the administration of his native Ishimbaysky district, in November 2021 he was appointed head of the government apparatus - minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
