Radiy Khabirov, on National Costume Day, spoke about the significance of this holiday. The Head of Bashkiria dedicated a post on social networks to this event.

“What is a national costume? Why did we establish National Costume Day in the republic, which is taking place today? I consider this a fundamental matter. First of all, it is an attempt to touch our past. And not just to touch, but to reach out to the history of the numerous peoples who live in our republic,” wrote Radiy Khabirov.

According to the Head of the Republic, three years ago, historians and fashion designers tried to create an image of a Bashkir business suit.

“Of course, it has a modern look, but it reflects the elements of the clothes that our ancestors wore several centuries ago. Many people liked him, by the way. It is worn with pleasure. And your humble servant too,” said the Head of Bashkiria and posted a photo with the Supreme Mufti of Russia, Talgat-Khazrat.

Recall that in Bashkiria on April 20, events of the National Costume Day, which has already become traditional, are held. Officially, this holiday has been celebrated on the initiative of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov since 2020 twice a year - on the third Friday of April and the second Friday of September. This year, the date has been moved due to the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr. Famous people of Bashkiria told Bashinform News Agency how national costumes help to be fashionable.
