Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation got acquainted with Bashkir project "Accessible Internet"

During his visit to Bashkiria, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko heard a report from the Minister of Digital Development of Republican Public Administration, Gennady Razumikin, on the implementation of the regional project "Accessible Internet".

He said that thanks to budget support, 53% of households in the project implementation areas had Internet at home for free while connecting a private house costs 12,000 to 50,000 rubles.

In 2021-2022, 24.2 thousand houses in 50 districts were connected. The program’s total budget amounted to 500 million rubles from the funds of the republican budget and the investor "Bashinformsvyaz" (50% each).

Gennady Razumikin said that to keep investors' interest; authorities are working on a mechanism for providing investment tax deductions to mobile operators, which will require amendments to the legislation.

Dmitry Chernyshenko said he would instruct the Russian Ministry of Digital Development to work out the possibility of co-financing the reproject from the funds of the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation". “It is also important to note that such projects should be implemented using domestically produced optical fiber and Russian telecommunications equipment,” the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government added.
