The Russian government increased Agrostartup grant size and subsidies for agricultural cooperatives

The Russian Federation's Government has increased the Agrostartup grant for agricultural entrepreneurs and subsidies for farming cooperatives. The Prime Minister signed the corresponding resolution.

According to the federal Cabinet's press service, the grant's size for those who breed cattle has increased from 5 to 7 million rubles. This applies to meat and dairy producers.

The grant increased from 3 to 5 million rubles for crop production and other agricultural profiles.

Payments will increase from 6 to 8 million rubles for livestock breeders working in agricultural consumer cooperatives.

The grant for members of cooperatives growing crops or engaged in other activities has been increased from 4 to 6 million rubles.

The exact resolution increased agricultural consumer cooperatives' compensation from 10 to 20 million rubles. We are talking about partial payment for the costs associated with purchasing agricultural products from members of the cooperative and owners of personal subsidiary farms (PSPs) that are not members of this joint.

In addition, the resolution clarifies the terms of the agricultural contract - an agreement concluded between processing enterprises and citizens who maintain personal subsidiary plots. Now processors can transfer seeds of crops, as well as young cattle, sheep, and goats, to the owner of the household plot to then receive ready-made vegetables, potatoes, milk, and meat at better prices. Until now, processors have been able to pay cash advances to owners of household plots.

The issue was discussed at the government meeting on February 16. “We hope that these measures will help not only to start a business but also subsequently to establish marketing and processing. New jobs will appear in rural areas, and consumers will have a wider choice of high-quality, affordable domestic food products,” said Mikhail Mishustin.
