Public hearings holding moratorium established in Bashkiria in 2023

The Prime Minister of Bashkiria signed amendments to the Decree of the Government of the Republic dated April 8, 2022, No. 144, "On the features of urban planning activities in the Republic of Bashkortostan in 2022". This was reported in the press service of the Republican Cabinet.

According to the document developed by the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Bashkortostan, in 2023, a moratorium on holding public hearings was established in the region. This is an extension of the decree from 2022. The President of the Russian Federation endowed the regions with such powers.

“The construction industry has set itself an ambitious task. By 2030, Bashkortostan should operate 4 million square meters of housing. At the same time, individual housing construction will play a significant role in solving this problem. Today its share exceeds 60%. Low-rise construction in our republic is traditionally in demand. People want and can build their housing. Our task is to assist them in this as much as possible,” said Andrey Nazarov.

Despite the sanctions, 2022 was the best year in terms of the pace of construction. At the end of 2022, 3 million 10 thousand square meters were built in Bashkortostan. This is 3.5% higher than in 2021 and 28.5% higher than the target set for the republic in the Unified Plan to Achieve the National Development Goals of the Russian Federation.

As Bashinform News Agency reported, municipalities were required to hold public discussions before permitting the construction of socially significant facilities.
