Vladimir Putin noted Murtaza Rakhimov’s role in Russian life
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Ufa today for the farewell ceremony for Murtaza Rakhimov and talked with the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov.
“We meet on a day of mourning. We bid farewell to the first head of the republic, Murtaza Rakhimov, whom I knew personally. We had good relations. I want to say that he made a significant contribution to the development of the republic as a subject of the Russian Federation and pursued a very balanced national policy, took a practical, real part in the life of the whole of Russia, and, without any exaggeration, played a significant, stabilizing role at a turning point in Russian history”, said Vladimir Putin.
