The experience of Bashkortostan in supporting the economy and mitigating the impact of sanctions aroused great interest among experts at a commission meeting on legislative support for national security and combating corruption.
This commission is headed by the speaker of the republican parliament, Konstantin Tolkachev. At the meeting, he made a report on the improvement of federal legislation to strengthen the security and sovereignty of Russia, countering foreign interference in the country's internal affairs.
"Preparing for the meeting, we worked closely with all the subjects and received from them a large amount of information on how work is being done at the regional level to support the economy and mitigate the impact of sanctions," Tolkachev said. — Having studied the best practices, we submitted to the Council of Legislators an analysis of this issue with specific proposals for ensuring our country's national security. The experience of Bashkortostan aroused great interest of the commission: we exempted farmers from the single agricultural tax, provided tax benefits to IT companies and residents of the Alga special economic zone, introduced preferences for investors, etc. We are actively working with investors from friendly countries. The experience of our republic and the best practices of other regions will be disseminated throughout the country."
The Chairman of the State Assembly of Bashkiria noted that the region's taxpayers' tax support possibilities are limited. They proposed expanding their legislative powers to stimulate investment activity more effectively. In addition, he proposed measures to improve the country's technological and information security and ensure financial and economic stability and stable operation of enterprises. The need to enhance a set of steps to support military personnel and family members was especially noted.
The Council of Legislators of Russia is an advisory and advisory body under the Federal Assembly, which has been operating since May 2012.
Its main task is the legislative support of state policy and the organization of interaction between the Federation Council, the State Duma, and the legislative bodies of the regions. The Council of Legislators is headed by two co-chairs – the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko, and the Chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin. The Council of Legislators has 12 commissions. One of them - the commission on legislative support of national security and anti-corruption - is headed by Konstantin Tolkachev.
