Russia’s President focused on free legal assistance development

“The time in which we now live has become a test of humanity. For many people, the usual supports and landmarks are crumbling. In this news flow, everyone needs support. It can be provided by law, lawyers,” said Irina Pankina, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee and Chairman of the Bashkortostan branch of the Russian Bar Association, in her speech at the round table of the VIII All-Russian Legal Forum today.

“The President of Russia focused on the development of free legal aid. Competent advice and consultation with an experienced professional can improve a person’s life. In Bashkortostan, the number of responsive lawyers is growing every year.

Our round table is dedicated to a beautiful date - the 15th anniversary of the branch of the Bar Association. I thank our colleagues and the organization’s leadership for the high appreciation. I also want to say a big thank you to the team of lawyers and the office of the Bashkortostan branch. You have shown yourself to be truly professional.

Over the past 15 years, thanks to our lawyers, more than 45,000 residents of Bashkortostan have been able to receive free legal assistance. Sixty-two branches, 16 of which we have opened over the past year and a half, are now operating as emergency legal aid points — they provide high-quality solutions to legal problems almost around the clock, even in the most inaccessible places,” said Irina Pankina.
