Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkortostan Andrey Nazarov discussed with Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber further prospects for cooperation between the two republics.
According to Andrey Nazarov, trade between Bashkortostan and Iran is growing rapidly.
“In 2021, it increased by 6.7 times. We supply Iran with agricultural products, grain crops, and oil - they make up 90 percent of exports. We also export petrochemicals and lumber. Iran supplies pulp and paper products, cardboard, and petrochemical products to Bashkortostan. Imports are also growing: in 2021, they increased by 2.5 times. According to the results of the first half of 2022, we see an increase of almost 60% compared to the first half of last year - the pace has been set quite well," Nazarov stated on his Telegram channel.
As noted at the meeting, the people of Russia and Iran are friendly toward each other, they want to work and cooperate.
Too increase tourist flows, I proposed creating direct flights between Iran and Bashkortostan - and other regions of our country that have great potential. The Iranian Ambassador to Russia announced the imminent launch of flights to several cities, including Ufa. This measure will significantly improve the flow of tourists and have a positive impact on business and, accordingly, on the growth of trade,” summed up the Prime Minister of Bashkortostan.
