Putin posthumously conferred young guard Viktor Tretyakevich Russia Hero title

Vladimir Putin conferred the title of Hero of the Russian Federation on young guard Viktor Tretyakevich. The corresponding decree of the head of state was published on the official Internet portal of legal information of the Russian Federation.

"Award the title of Hero of the Russian Federation to Viktor Iosifovich Tretyakevich (posthumously) for active participation in the creation and activities of the underground Komsomol Young Guards organization, courage and heroism shown in the fight against the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", the document says.

Viktor Iosifovich Tretyakevich is one of the organizers, a member of the headquarters, and a commissar of the underground anti-fascist Komsomol Young Guards organization, which operated in the city of Krasnodon, Voroshilovgrad Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, occupied by Nazi troops, in 1942–1943 during the Great Patriotic War.
