Andrey Nazarov discussed cooperation between Bashkortostan and Iran

On August 23, the Prime Minister of Bashkortostan Andrey Nazarov met with Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister of Iran Seyyed Reza Fatemi Amin. During the working meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues related to the infrastructure of cooperation and ways to implement them.

The Prime Minister noted that the constructive and dynamic development of our relations between Bashkortostan and Iran helped to strengthen stability and security in the East, friendship and mutual trust.

It was observed that during the visit of the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Bashkortostan, preliminary agreements were reached on the possible establishment of fraternal relations between the city of Ufa and the capital of the Central Province, the city of Arak. The Prime Minister of Bashkortostan suggested that the Iranian partners consider the possibility of establishing fraternal relations between the city of Sterlitamak and the capital of the North Khorasan province, the city of Bojnurd.

Andrey Nazarov stressed that work on the development of the agreements reached between Bashkortostan and the Islamic Republic of Iran continues. The Iranian side requested information about the Agidel river cargo port project. Interest was also expressed in organizing a joint production for the processing of milk, and the supply of flour and wheat to Iran.

As part of the upcoming visit of the official delegation of Bashkortostan led by the Head of the Republic to Iran, meetings of officials and representatives of business circles are planned, and an extended presentation of the investment and economic potential of Bashkortostan is being prepared in Tehran. It is also planned to open the office of the representative of Bashkortostan at the Russian Trade Mission and organize a visit of the official delegation in October, the key tasks of which will be to attract investment and increase the recognition of Bashkortostan abroad.

The prime minister of the republic noted that Bashkortostan was one of the most economically advanced subjects of Russia, where the machine-building industry was developing dynamically. It is represented by the production of automotive and special equipment, automotive components, as well as equipment for the oil and gas industry. In this regard, there is significant potential for joint cooperation.

"As for joint production, we are very interested in the fact that companies from Bashkortostan, and companies from Iran can engage in joint investments. In general, they could even create a joint venture," Seyyed Reza Fatemi Amin said.

Iran expressed its readiness to work together in the sector of aviation and unmanned vehicles, the halal industry, and the provision of catalysts. In addition, there are Iranian companies interested in opening a production line for dairy products in Bashkortostan. The opening of a regular flight "Ufa - Tehran" was discussed. Iran is ready to take part in the river cargo port project. Iran is interested in organizing the supply of flour and wheat. Iran intends to develop a long-term program for the purchase of grain in Bashkortostan.

Andrey Nazarov said that Bashkortostan is expanding the range of preferential instruments.

"Now we are working on the creation of a special administrative region in Bashkortostan. This is the national model of an offshore jurisdiction. Its goal is to return companies established abroad to the Russian legal field. We plan to implement this project with the involvement of Islamic finance instruments. This will create the most favorable conditions for attracting investments. We invite you to cooperate, - Andrey Nazarov noted.

Representatives of Iran highly appreciated the achievements of Bashkortostan in the field of industry, and economy, as well as the successful experience of international cooperation, and declared that they were interested in creating the Business Center of Iran in Bashkortostan.
