Putin approves increase in pensions and minimum wage by 10%

The President of Russia approved the indexation of pensions for non-working pensioners, the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum by 10%.

Pensions and the subsistence minimum must be increased since  June 1. The average subsistence minimum in the country will reach 12,919. The minimum wage will be increased from July 1 - the national average to 15,278 rubles. Inflation in Russia at the end of the year will not exceed 15%, the President noted.

In addition, the head of state promised to double the support for female military personnel with children - it will amount to more than 30,000 rubles.

Vladimir Putin instructed to propose measures to increase the minimum wage and the subsistence minimum, indexation of pensions, salaries of state employees and other social benefits in mid-March. “I understand that rising prices seriously affect people's incomes, so in the near future we will make a decision to increase all social benefits. I emphasize: even in the current difficult situation, we need to achieve a reduction in the level of poverty and inequality by the end of the year,” the President said.
