Bashkiria Government adopted Tourism Development Strategy until 2035

It sets goals to double the tourist flow - up to 5 million people a year and to bring the annual volume of the tourism industry to 25 billion rubles.

The Government of Bashkiria has adopted a Tourism Development Strategy until 2035. Prime Minister of Bashkiria Andrey Nazarov noted that the republic had always been a unique territory for the development of tourism, so there must be a similar tool for comprehensive work to transform the industry and attract additional tourist flows. The document defines important areas for increasing the flow of tourists: the use of "entry points", the creation of a network of 75 visitor centers, and the development of a master plan for the main locations, which will determine points of attraction, tasks for the development of infrastructure and logistics, as well as increase the interest of potential investors.

“Tourist flows that were previously distributed outside the country are now directed to routes within Russia. The flow of tourists is increasing every year, and we must maintain the given vector based on high-quality training, including in a regulatory and administrative way. One of the priority tasks of the Government is to attract tourists so they come back again”, Andrey Nazarov emphasized.

Minister of Entrepreneurship and Tourism Rustem Afzalov reported on the approval of the Tourism Development Strategy in the Republic of Bashkortostan for the period up to 2035.

“The main goal is to create a high-quality and competitive product, ensure the availability of tourist services, conditions for successful business development. This document highlights the key goals, clusters, and directions, the most significant activities. Among the main tasks are the growth of tourists from 2.6 to 5 million people a year, an increase in the volume of the tourism industry from 13 to 25 billion rubles, a 2-fold increase in the number of people employed in this industry and taxes received by the republic, an increase in investment in tourism and domestic trips for one resident by 2.5 times,” Rustem Afzalov emphasized.

In addition, the Minister of Tourism said that the Strategy had a separate section on digitalization. These are the key marketplaces and aggregators on the “customer journey”, which you need to integrate into in terms of promoting brands and tourism products.

In conclusion, Rustem Afzalov noted that the strategy lists all the main potential sources of financing for projects to develop the tourism industry at the current moment, primarily at the federal level.
