The Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia hosted the Forum of Young Parliamentarians, timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Chamber of Young Legislators.
Participants from 85 regions of the country gathered in the capital to discuss proposals and initiatives of draft laws on strategic directions of state policy.
Bashkortostan was represented at the forum by members of the Chamber of Young Legislators of Russia from the republic: Deputy of the State Assembly - Kurultay Yakov Kugubaev and Deputy of the Sterlitamak City Council Ratmir Fakhreev.
Young parliamentarians took part in the work of the round tables that took place before the start of the plenary session. Yakov Kugubaev, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Young Legislators, acted as the moderator of the platform where the discussion on the topic “Transformation of law in the face of new global challenges: the view of young lawyers” took place.
The participants of the round table noted that the digitalization of all aspects of life entails large-scale transformations in jurisprudence and the traditional characteristics of the domestic legal system. Modern lawyers must be technologically savvy and have experience working with specialists from other fields to respond quickly to new challenges.
Representatives of Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Indonesia, Jordan, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Laos, Lebanon, Moldova, Palestine, Syria, South Africa took part in the discussion via video link.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the members of the Chamber of Young Legislators under the Federation Council.
Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko noted in her speech at the plenary session of the forum, that over ten years of work of the Chamber of Young Legislators, a large parliamentary family had formed, a community of caring, active, talented people.
The Chamber of Young Legislators was established in 2012 on the initiative of the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko as a platform where young parliamentarians get the opportunity to implement regional initiatives at the federal level, participate in the preparation of recommendations and proposals for legislative provision of the rights, freedoms and interests of citizens, the development and examination of draft laws. Over the past years, the Chamber has become a really working social elevator for talented politicians and managers.
