Today in Moscow, the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov discussed the prospects for further cooperation with Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sorena Sattari. The Head of Bashkiria wrote about this on his social media.
“In recent years, we have been actively looking for partners not only in the Russian Federation but also abroad. This work is bearing fruit. Cooperation with machine-building enterprises of Belarus is starting, trade and cultural relations are developing with Kazakhstan and other countries,” Radiy Khabirov said.
Iran is a large state at the junction of the Near and Middle East. Being under sanctions for more than 40 years, this country has demonstrated serious technological and economic development. Oil production and oil refining are very well developed here. Bashkortostan enterprises are interested in joint projects.
At present, the issue of opening a representative office of the republic in Iran is being worked out. At the meeting, the parties agreed to exchange business missions. The delegation of Bashkortostan will visit the largest oil and gas exhibition in Tehran already in mid-May. Iranian oil will soon turn 115 years old, and the Bashkir oil industry will mark 90 years this year. Representatives of Iran are expected in Ufa at ceremonial events.
“The experience of Iran in the food industry and agriculture will be useful for us. Iran is interested in importing grain and meat from our republic, as well as in investment projects in the territory of Bashkortostan,” the Head of the region emphasized. “We plan to develop cooperation in the field of science, education, and culture. We have a mutual interest in training and research. Now 53 students from Iran are studying in the universities of our republic, the vast majority of them are future doctors.”
