Radiy Khabirov today at a meeting with teachers and students of the Institute of Law of Bashkir State University noted that Bashkortostan had always been a stronghold of Russia. However, at some point the republic was not vigourous enough to move forward. According to him, the republic, despite its huge scientific and university potential, was not among the regions where federal universities were created. Consequently, one of the first issues that he raised at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin was the creation of a large university in Bashkortostan.
“We were moving step by step towards the creation of a world-class Eurasian Research and Educational Center, knocking on every door. The merger of two universities with great traditions - Bashkir State University and Ufa State Aviation Technical University was also a challenging issue. However, we believed and still believe that it is such an integrated university that can count on good funding from the federal center and open up new opportunities for both the science development and the training of specialists,” Radiy Khabirov stressed.
The Head of the Region told the students that the republic paid close attention to attracting investments. Despite the most difficult conditions in which the economy was during the pandemic, it was managed to attract 419 billion rubles of investments over the past two years.
“Most recently, our delegation visited Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus, signed many different documents and we will develop our economic cooperation. In May we are going on a visit to Uzbekistan. We began to work proactively in every area, and today Bashkortostan is known everywhere,” Radiy Khabirov said.
