Interethnic peace in Bashkiria is result of hard work - Radiy Khabirov

Interethnic peace in the republic is not only a continuation of the centuries-old traditions of our ancestors. This is the result of today's painstaking, balanced work of all levels of government, a competent national and cultural policy, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov said at a meeting of the Council under the Head RB on Interethnic Relations.

Members of the Council, spiritual leaders of traditional confessions of the region, heads of public organizations, national-cultural associations, heads of municipalities participated in the meeting under the chairmanship of Radiy Khabirov.

“We will continue to preserve ethnic, cultural and linguistic diversity through the implementation of state programs, grant support, development of the national press, education. This is our main asset,” the Head of Bashkortostan stated and cited as a good example the project on creating a network of multilingual gymnasiums currently being implemented in the region.There are plans to create 14 multilingual gymnasiums.

To date, there are three multilingual schools in Bashkortostan that teach the Bashkir language. Meanwhile, a similar school was opened in Neftekamsk, but with the study of the Tatar language. A Mari school is being created in the Mishkinsky district of the republic. In the Bizhbulyaksky district, a decision was made to open a multilingual school with the study of the Chuvash language.

As was reported at the meeting, the unique experience of the region had already been marked at the federal level.

According to the latest data, more than 70 national public associations are currently operating in Bashkortostan. The largest of them are part of the Assembly of Peoples and the House of Friendship of the Peoples of the Republic.

“We note the great contribution to the consolidation of our society of the World Kurultay of the Bashkirs, the Russian Cathedral, the National Cultural Autonomy of the Tatars, the Kanasha of the Chuvash and other ethno-cultural associations of the republic. We highly appreciate the contribution of our religious, public organizations, their leaders to strengthening civil solidarity and social stability,” the Head of Bashkortostan noted.
