The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, touched upon import substitution in the light industry in his new post on social media. He mentioned the Ufa brand MADYART as an example.
“Women's clothing stores of this company for a long time coexisted with foreign competitors in shopping centers. After the departure of some foreign brands, our manufacturers have even more opportunities for development. MADYART has been operating for 29 years, 25 outlets operate in 11 cities throughout Russia. The enterprise has its own design bureau and design department, which creates its own patterns.
Support measures have been developed at the federal and republican levels for light industry enterprises. This year we plan to allocate 150 million rubles from the budget to subsidize part of the cost of purchasing raw materials and supplies. Our enterprises can get preferential loans from the Republican Industry Development Fund. Grants are planned to reimburse part of the interest rate on loan agreements,” the Head of the Republic recalled.
“In order to support light industry enterprises of the republic in the face of sanctions pressure from Western countries, which led to a sharp increase in the cost of raw materials, it was decided to move budget allocations from the equipment subsidy program to the raw materials and materials subsidy program and increase the latter to 150 million rubles. Today, taking into account the sanctions and the closure of borders for the supply of European raw materials and equipment, there is a reorientation to other countries and the search for other supply channels, for example, through Turkey, China, and other Asian countries. New supply chains are being established. As the experience of past years shows, our light industry enterprises are reorienting themselves to the demand of our residents,” Bashkiria Minister of Industry and Energy Alexander Sheldyaev commented to the Bashinform News Agency.
