Head of Bashkiria spoke about main goals of state news media

The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov today, during a meeting with the staff of the Press and Media Agency RB and the Bashinform News Agency, noted that the main tasks of the state media were the ability to tell their readers and viewers about the narratives of the government work, adoption of certain decisions.

"Today, the information space lives amid very intense competition. The news media compete with social networks. One of the main tasks for the state news media is to tell people what the authorities are doing and why they are doing it. Very often, distorted meanings are formed in social networks. Our common task is to work in social networks, too, to refute the unreliable information that exists there. Certainly, there is no need to invent anything to create a positive agenda, especially since it really exists. For example, we ended 2021 with an amazing figure in construction - 3 million square meters of housing. Never before in the republic's history has there been such a volume. Moreover, this whole story must not only be told but also explained the reasons to people," the Head of the Republic noted.

Radiy Khabirov also thanked the agency staff for their active information support of the authorities against coronavirus infection.

"In two months, it will be two years of our fight against COVID, and you have been at the forefront all this time: you have explained to people what measures are being taken, told about the exploits of our health care professionals. When vaccination began, you conveyed to people all its importance. You had to make your way through the barricades of unreliable and sometimes false information. We have gone through this challenging stage together. Although there is another difficult period ahead associated with the spread of coronavirus infection, a fifth wave is underway. Therefore, everyone needs to comply with the restrictive measures under the Decree and continue vaccination to achieve herd immunity. We really hope that the consequences of this wave will be less severe," Radiy Khabirov said.
