Population census in Bashkiria managed to cover more than 4.1 million people - Khabirov

According to preliminary information, the population census in Bashkiria managed to cover more than 4.1 million people, the Head of the Region Radiy Khabirov said on Monday at a briefing session in the government.

“The most important and large-scale event has come to an end. It was a big state task, and it has been accomplished. We have exceeded 4.1 million people due to meticulously taken census”, Radiy Khabirov stated. He thanked the statisticians of the republic and all those who participated in the All Russian Population Census-2020 for their challenging work.

Meanwhile, as the head of the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency Akram Ganiev said at the briefing session, Bashkiria had become one of the leading regions in terms of participation in the census.

“The republic retains the 7th place in the country in terms of population. Only the census determines the total number, gives, as they say, an aggregate picture,” Akram Ganiev said.

As the head of Bashkortostan Statistics Agency noted, digital technologies had greatly accelerated and simplified the work during the census. Thanks to them, the preliminary results of the census will be known in April, the full results will be known by the end of next year. Previously, this took three to four years.

Speaking at a meeting in the government, Akram Ganiev also noted the activity of regional media in covering the All-Russian Population Census. In terms of the number of reports in the media about the course of the census, Bashkiria took third place in this conditional all-Russian rating - after the Moscow and Rostov regions.

As the Bashinform News Agency previously reported, the All-Russian Population Census was held from October 15 to November 14, 2021, with the widespread use of digital technologies.
