Konstantin Tolkachev said about infringement of Russians rights in Europe because of vaccine

For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the plenary session is being held in person. However, the Russian delegation was forced to limit itself to online participation in discussions.

"Unfortunately, the delay in registration of the Russian vaccine in Europe has become an obstacle for our delegation to come to Strasbourg," Konstantin Tolkachev stressed. "By not recognizing Sputnik V, the French authorities actually made it impossible for representatives of the Russian Federation to attend the plenary session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. Nevertheless, we were provided with opportunities for full-fledged work remotely. "

The speaker of the republic's parliament specified that the current session of the Europen Council is focused on several crucial topics. Particular attention is paid to economic recovery issues after the pandemic, the problem of migration, and the prospects for ongoing education to ensure youth employment. The Russian delegation takes an active part in the development of strategic decisions.

The results of monitoring compliance with the European Charter of Local Self-Government in Spain, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, and Cyprus are also discussed at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
