Bashkiria intends to develop economic partnership with Bahrain

To develop the economic partnership, Bashkiria was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Russia, Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Saati.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain became a guest of the VI World Folkloriada CIOFF in Bashkiria. He highly appreciated the level of preparation and holding of this large-scale event on the Bashkir land.

Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Saati also met with the Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkiria, Andrei Nazarov. The parties discussed tourism development, including the organization of flights from Ufa to Manama, the capital of Bahrain, and proposals for organizing cross-business missions.

Bahrain's ambassador expressed interest in developing cooperation in education in the oil and gas industry. At the moment, negotiations have already been successfully held, and options for interaction with Ufa State Petroleum Technological University have been found.

In turn, the head of the Iglinsky region, Guzel Nasyrova, presented fresh honey to the ambassador. Besides, it was decided to send a pilot batch of fresh Bashkir honey to Bahrain. In addition, it was decided to start developing a honey brand for further supplies of honey from Bashkiria.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Russia Ahmed Abdulrahman Al-Saati also visited the Krasnousolsky sanatorium.

Meanwhile, as noted by the State Committee RB for Foreign Economic Relations, the volume of foreign trade turnover between Bashkiria and the Kingdom of Bahrain has not yet reached high levels.

"We started our trade cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain last year with the supply of furniture. Namely, chairs exports. However, there is certainly potential for trade development: this is the supply of products and high-tech products. Therefore, we are working out promising export options," the head of the department, Margarita Bolycheva, said.

According to the regional government, the ongoing dialogue is planned to be continued during the planned meeting at the XII International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2021". It will take place in Kazan, from July 28 to 30.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain is not visiting Bashkiria for the first time. His previous visit took place in November 2019 as part of the 5th annual meeting of the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group.
