Ufa draft master plan was presented to Radiy Khabirov

The Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, held a meeting of the Republic's Town Planning Council, at which issues of the Ufa development were considered.

According to demographic forecasts, by 2040, the population of the Ufa agglomeration will increase significantly. In this regard, it becomes necessary to synchronize the agglomeration development and its adaptation to new realities. The draft master plan of Ufa, which was developed by specialists from the Institute of Master Plan of Moscow, was presented by Olga Sarapulova, Deputy Head of the Main Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Moscow Administration. In July 2021, the document will be submitted for public discussion while it passes the stage of discussion in all the necessary instances. The existing master plan, which was developed in 1996, is outdated and no longer meets modern requirements.

The estimated budget for the new master plan of Ufa until 2040 will amount to 2 trillion rubles. The main focus is on infrastructure development. The project provides for the development of territories, primarily Zabeliye and Zaufimye neighborhoods, the construction of 10 bridges, the construction of new schools for 117 thousand students. At the same time, the project is still ahead of demographic forecasts.

"We should understand that the growth of the Ufa population will take place not only at the expense of demography," Radiy Khabirov said. "Mass construction will spur migration flows, and we will definitely need all of these schools."

Olga Sarapulova noted that the city planned to build new schools and renovate existing ones. At the same time, there is a market for investors ready to build private educational institutions.

The draft master plan takes into account the predicted development of the existing territories of Ufa - Chernikovka, Zelenaya Roshcha, October Avenue, and others. Dema and Zaton neighborhoods remain reserves for spatial expansion, but the key issues here will be transport accessibility and job creation. It is important to set the right priorities in the Ufa development program to solve them.
