Radiy Khabirov instructed to assign Lake Talkas status of specially protected natural area

The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, instructed to assign the status of a specially protected natural area to Talkas Lake in the Baymaksky region. The Ministry of Ecology of the Republic has already begun work on outlining the boundaries and defining permitted activities near the lake.

Recall that on May 15, the Head of the Region held a working meeting in Baymak with the participation of municipalities and mining companies, at which he proposed to create an interdepartmental commission on subsoil use issues.

The Head of the Republic noted that for many years residents of the Baymaksky region had been suffering from businessmen who carried out large-scale mining operations, often in violation of environmental legislation.

In particular, residents of the villages of Isyanovo, Tubinsky, Sakmar, Temyasovo have repeatedly appealed to the municipality and the regional authorities because of the intentions of Semenovsky Rudnik LLC to open a quarry near Lake Talkas.

In addition, due to the coronavirus, in the spring-summer season, there is an influx of tourists to all major lakes in the region, including Lake Talkas. Therefore, it is required to put things in order in this territory.

The Head of the Republic also raised the topic of restoring the disturbed ecological balance by enterprises that develop quarries to extract minerals in the region.

Radiy Khabirov stressed that the republic would prepare a complete list of quarries, in respect of which no reclamation work had been carried out, to further transfer materials to law enforcement agencies.
