Konstantin Tolkachev took part in Russian Council of Legislators meeting

The Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev took part in a meeting of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation at the Federal Assembly.

The event took place at the Tauride Palace in St. Petersburg with the participation of Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin and Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.

"The agenda of the meeting fully corresponds to the priorities that our country is facing. The coronavirus pandemic has become a challenge for the whole world and has led to a slowdown in economic growth in many countries, including Russia. Now it is necessary to do everything to restore the economy and solve many social problems caused by the pandemic. The development of each region, including our republic, will depend on how quickly and successfully we cope with this. In turn, the key themes of the President's Address are focused on the economic and social problems caused by the pandemic, offer specific ways to solve them," Konstantin Tolkachev stated.

The Chairman of the State Assembly – Kurultay RB, also noted that during the plenary session of the Council of Legislators, the issue of budgetary provision of the regions was discussed.

At the end of the plenary session, the Council of Legislators met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of state outlined the mechanisms for achieving the goals that he had previously outlined in his Address to the Federal Assembly.

"A number of the essential initiatives of the Address are aimed at the comprehensive and balanced development of the regions, strengthening their financial base," Konstantin Tolkachev commented on the President's speech. "Success will largely depend on effective legislative support. Permanent parliamentary oversight will also be required. It is vital to coordinate the legislative plans of the Federal Assembly and regional parliaments to implement the main provisions of the Address. Besides, it is necessary to build a productive dialogue with the executive authorities".
