Military parade, "Immortal Regiment" procession and fireworks will take place in Ufa on May 9

The republic should celebrate Victory Day with dignity and show maximum attention to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the Chief of Staff of the Head of Bashkortostan Alexander Sidyakin said at a meeting of the republican organizing committee for the preparation and holding of solemn events.

Almost 23 thousand veterans and their family members live in Bashkortostan today. Of these, 493 participants in the Second World War and 189 disabled people, 91 former underage prisoners of concentration camps, 84 residents of besieged Leningrad, and more than 15 thousand home front workers.

“Representatives of local authorities should personally visit all veterans, check their living conditions, pay special attention to the availability of their medical care, learn about the needs of veterans and take care of them,” Alexander Sidyaki stated.

A large number of festive events are planned in the republic and Ufa. Traditionally, the main ones will be held in Ufa. On May 9, in the morning in Victory Park, the republic's leadership will take part in the solemn laying of flowers at the monument to Alexander Matrosov and Minnigali Gubaidullin.

On Victory Day, the Immortal Regiment will march in Ufa, and a military parade will take place. In the evening, the sky of the capital will light up with festive fireworks.

This year the Immortal Regiment will be held in two formats: traditional and online. According to the coordinator of the movement in the republic, Vadim Kurilov, last year, more than 40 thousand Bashkortostan residents took part in the online format of the Immortal Regiment republic hit the top ten among all regions in terms of activity.

This year, the Victory Forest campaign is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The Ministry of Forestry is preparing 65 plots on 251 hectares, where it is planned to plant more than 1 million seedlings. These alleys will be dedicated to the military units formed in the republic during the war, Rustem Akhmadinurov, head of the regional branch of United Russia, said.

The Victory Dictation will take place on April 29 this year. Each municipality of the republic will host organized sites for the event. Dictation venues will be created in higher educational institutions, the Historical Park "Russia - My History", the Republican Museum of Military Glory.

Rustem Akhmadinurov noted that the party's activists would continue to put in order the burial places of WWII veterans and monuments in honor of the heroes. Last year, more than 1,000 monuments were repaired, and there are 2,300 of them.
