Russian Government announced cuts of staff by 10%

By the beginning of April, the number of employees of the Cabinet of Ministers is decreased by almost ten percent. Deputy Prime Minister, Chief of Staff of the Government of Russia Dmitry Grigorenko, announced the management reform's interim results in an interview with Izvestia. He stressed that 66 structural divisions and 33 deputy heads of federal departments had already been cut.
"Optimization of the number of staff is carried out at the expense of unused vacancies with the preservation of the payroll," Grigorenko said. "This means that the risks of dismissal or lower wages of employees who perform their duties professionally are minimized."
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that the state staff's structure would become more compact, eliminating duplication of functions and unnecessary bureaucracy and allowing it to work more efficiently.
Recall that Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin gave the start of the management reform in November 2020. The changes also affected Bashkortostan. As the Prime Minister of the republic Andrei Nazarov stated, the regional Government has been optimizing its structure for a long time in order to increase the efficiency of state regulation and economic revival. Some government structure units are being reduced, some are being reformed, and some are being strengthened.
