"Eurasian Economic Center" investment project is being created in Bashkiria

In Ufa, the Eurasian Economic Center project's implementation was discussed at the Strategic Session on Improving the Investment Climate, held at the Toratau Congress Hall on February 16. In 2020, the government of the republic and the “Research Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation” signed an agreement on the creation of a comprehensive investment project, “Eurasian Economic Center” in the republic, the main goal of which is to expand production in the region and bring republican products into new markets.

“In the Eurasian Economic Center Comprehensive Investment Project, the regions do not compete with each other but are united within the existing value-added chains, one production cycle, various activities to enhance interregional interaction and obtain preferences.

Manufacturers often choose the region where they get the best conditions, and another region literally takes investors away from under its very nose. Our task is to unite the complex investment project and bring it to the federal authorities. The Samara region and Udmurtia have so far confirmed participation in the project; that is, we have already gone beyond the Volga-Ural macroregion. This will allow us to move from the baseline scenario to the optimistic one. It is important at the federal level in terms of tax payments, jobs created, investments, the development of small and medium-sized businesses, and the efficiency of budget spending.
