Radiy Khabirov called Bashkortostan Development Corporation one of most important instruments for republic development.

"We consider the Corporation to be one of the essential instruments for our region development, increasing its investment attractiveness and attracting investments", the Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov said at a meeting dedicated to the Development Corporation's activities RB on Wednesday.

In November last year, the Regional Development Corporation, together with a design institute, began developing a perspective map of the Alga special economic zone. This year, the necessary documentation will be approved, construction and installation works will start.

As the director of the management company of the "Ufimsky" industrial park Artem Penzin said at the meeting, the Alga SEZ, located in Sterlitamaksky and Ishimbaysky districts, was popular among investors.

"Last year, when the Alga SEZ was created, we planned to attract three residents there. In fact, there are six of them," Penzin said. "This year, according to our estimates, we can triple the plans to attract three more new residents."

Meanwhile, for 2021, the Bashkortostan Development Corporation sets ambitious goals to attract investment to the region - 40 investment projects worth at least 20 billion rubles. This was announced at the meeting by the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the Republic of Bashkortostan Rustam Muratov.

In the near future, the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia will hold a meeting at which it is planned to study the experience of regional development institutions, including Bashkortostan.

"It is necessary to strengthen informational work to attract potential investors," Radiy Khabirov concluded. "There should be a convenient website, regular briefings, including at the Bashkortostan embassy's sites in Moscow and our representations abroad - in Austria and Turkey."
