Putin supported United Russia in making December 31 day off nationwide

Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of making December 31 a weekend across the country, TASS reports.

"On the 31st [December], indeed, work is organized in a very peculiar way, to put it mildly, therefore, of course, this should probably be supported - from the federal level it is impossible, but the regions can do it locally," the head of state replied to the proposal of the faction leader United Russia Sergey Neverov.

Earlier, Deputy Sergey Neverov suggested that the Russian President make the last day of December an All-Russian day off. "In many regions, it has already been decided to make December 31 a day off. United Russia proposes to make it a day off throughout the country. Still, this is a family holiday and the last day of the year," the head of the faction said.
