Government has extended preferential mortgage program

The Russian Government has extended the preferential mortgage program at 6.5% until July 1, 2021, vesti.ru reports, citing a statement of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

This program was initially supposed to end on November 1. It was managed to support the construction industry significantly due to it, experts say.

Preferential mortgage loans will allow about 600 thousand families to improve their living conditions and will bring 1.8 trillion rubles to the Russian economy by July next year.

By the end of the year, about 152 thousand families will be able to improve their living conditions with the help of preferential mortgage loans at 6.5%. It is expected that the country's economy will receive about 300 billion rubles.
