Vladimir Putin signed decree establishing Children's Protection Fund

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the creation of the Children's Protection Fund. The document was published on the official portal of legal information the day before.

The Children's Protection Fund was created to unite "the efforts of the state and civil society institutions to protect children's rights, to create conditions conducive to their all-round development and upbringing," the document says.

According to the decree, the founder of the fund is the Ministry of Education. The department will form the organization's activities, provide support in implementing its goals and monitor the implementation of the fund's tasks.

The membership will also include the Russian Children's Fund and the Union of Public Funds International Association of Children's Foundations.

According to «Izvestia» newspaper, the Children's Protection Fund's supreme governing body will be the congress, which is convened by this organization's decision.

The board of the foundation will be chaired by its chairman, elected for a five-year term.
