Radiy Khabirov announced launch of "Bashkir Longevity" project

Today, October 1, on the Day of Older Persons, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, during a meeting with veterans in the Aurgazinsky region, announced the launch of the "Bashkir Longevity" project. It will be aimed at improving health, increasing the period of social activity, and the duration of a healthy life for citizens of the older generation in Bashkortostan. Radiy Khabirov explained that it would include several directions.

"As part of the medical examination of the population in polyclinics, we are introducing the so-called "silver hour". This period of time, relatively speaking two to three hours, will be used for medical examination only for the older persons. It will be convenient for them. Also, in medical institutions, we will create special health schools for older people. Special courses on rational nutrition and a healthy lifestyle will be created there. The medical part, of course, also includes health trailers that go to the districts and where residents can undergo a comprehensive medical examination," said Radiy Khabirov.

Another area of the program will be related to tourism. The State Tourism Committee plans to subsidize excursions for those who want to enjoy the nature of their native land, to visit new places. All republican authorities and administrations of districts and cities will be involved in this work.

Pensioners will also have an opportunity to receive a certificate for computer literacy, and with it, they will be able to choose the organization to undergo training.

In Bashkortostan, they will actively develop the sports competitions for pensioners, starting with municipalities. Sports groups for retirees will be created and expanded at sports and recreation centers. According to the head of the region, the elderly will continue to be involved in the volunteer movement so that they feel useful and needed for society.

Radiy Khabirov said that he would sign a corresponding decree on the "Bashkir Longevity" project, and this is a kind of gift from the republic's authorities for the Day of Older Persons.
