Radiy Khabirov spoke about Bashkir-Belarusian friendship at Forum of Regions

The Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov delivered a report on the close ties between our republic and Belarus at the Forum of Regions held by the Federation Council. The Head of Bashkortostan spoke at the section (held as a video conference) "The feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War - the basis for patriotism and civic responsibility."

“Belarusians are people very close to Bashkirs. Bashkir regiments, together with Belarusians, beat Napoleon. During the Great Patriotic War, thousands of our fellow countrymen fought in serried ranks with the Belarusian brothers", he reminded.

“About 18 thousand Belarusians live in our republic. We help them to preserve traditions, create conditions for learning their native language, we spend together a wonderful holiday - the Day of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus, ”said Radiy Khabirov.

Belarus is one of the three leading trade partners of Bashkiria. The parties actively cooperate in the field of industrial cooperation, agro-industrial complex, mechanical engineering, a joint production of agricultural machinery.

The Head of Bashkiria also shared our experience of patriotic education. “We have, in fact, created an educational-patriotic cluster that unites educational institutions, museums, memorial complexes, military units, enterprises of the military-industrial complex of our republic. This year, for the massive heroism of the home front workers, our capital, Ufa, has been awarded the high title - City of Labor Valor. About half a million people took part in the Immortal Regiment campaign. This year we have become one of the most active regions within the framework of the Immortal Regiment Online project,” he noted.

Radiy Khabirov said that the soldiers of the 112th Bashkir Cavalry Division and its legendary commander Major General Minigali Shaimuratov remained an example for new generations. 78 soldiers of the division were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
