50% of voters cast their votes in Bashkiria - Radiy Khabirov

In Bashkiria, according to the regional CEC on June 29, 50% of voters cast their votes, of which about 300 thousand people did it from home, the Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, said during an interview with the Russia 24 television channel. Together with the head of the republican CEC, Ilona Makarenko, he talked about preparations for voting amid the pandemic.

The Head of Bashkiria noted that the seven-day schedule of the referendum allowed avoiding crowds at polling stations. Besides, republican enterprises in a short time managed to establish the production of almost all types of personal protective equipment. The CEC conducted training for precinct commissions on compliance with sanitary protection standards: wearing uniforms, regular disinfection, separate entrances and exits. Most likely, on July 1, more people will come to the stations than on other days, and we will be ready for this, the head said.

According to Ilona Makarenko, the Public Chamber in the region has formed a pool of about 30 thousand observers. Video surveillance will be used at 309 polling stations.
