Vladimir Putin awarded doctors from Bashkiria for combatting COVID-19
On Health Worker Day, which was celebrated yesterday in Russia, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree, rewarding medical workers for their selfless work and great contribution to the fight against coronavirus.
The document was published on the Kremlin website on Sunday.
There were 15 health care representatives of Bashkortostan among the awardees. Nine doctors from the republic were awarded the Pirogov Order, four medics from Bashkiria were awarded medals “For Merits to the Fatherland of the Second Degree”. Two doctors from Bashkortostan received the Luka Krymsky Medal.
It should be noted that on June 19, 2020, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree establishing the Order of Pirogov and the Luka Krymsky Medal in honor of the Russian surgeon, the founder of military field surgery in Russia Nikolai Pirogov and the surgeon, Archbishop of Simferopol and Crimean Luka.
