First online "Rural Hour" session was devoted to meat industry development

The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov held the first "Rural Hour" session. It was attended by the heads of branch ministries and departments, representatives of control and supervisory bodies, republican producers. They discussed the development of livestock and meat processing.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture RB Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, last year 263 thousand tons of meat were produced in Bashkortostan. The indicator ranks 10th among the regions of Russia. Half of this volume falls on private farms.

"We provide the needs of the republic with local production by 88 percent. Some of the products are imported from neighboring regions," added the Minister of Agriculture RB. "At the same time, the territory of Bashkortostan allows us to increase livestock by 1.5 times, up to 3 million heads."

Ilshat Fazrakhmanov noted that over the next three years, large enterprises would begin to operate in the region as part of investment projects. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, it is important to arrange a full-fledged chain between the population, processing, and end-users.

The Head of Bashkortostan instructed the Government RB to analyze these areas and to discuss proposals at one of the next "Rural Hour" sessions.
