Voting on amendments to Russian Constitution is scheduled for July 1

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a vote on constitutional amendments would be held on July 1. This decision was made after a meeting with members of the working group to amend the Constitution.
"We will hold a nationwide vote on the adoption of amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation on July 1, 2020," the head of state announced.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has developed rules for conducting an all-Russian vote on amendments to the Constitution of Russia amid the threat of the coronavirus infection spread. The head of the CEC Ella Pamfilova reported this.
According to her, the CEC considered how to minimize the risk of infection, including by separating the flow of voters "both in time and in space." Pamfilova noted that the CEC took into account the experience of holding elections during a pandemic in other countries and, together with Rospotrebnadzor, developed stringent rules for voting in such conditions. Corresponding documents have already been dispatched along the lines of both departments to the regions of Russia.
The Constitution Day, July 1, is declared a day off.
