Volunteer center will be created in Bashkortostan

A volunteer center will be created in Bashkortostan that will unite all the volunteer movements in the region. It was announced today at an online meeting with volunteers by the Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov.

He proposed to allocate a separate building for the volunteer center to gather everyone under its roof. The new center will house branches of the “Lisa Alert”, “Green Patrol”, Russian student teams, and others.

“Now, I look at volunteers as a powerful force that solves the most important state tasks,” Radiy Khabirov underlined. “There used to be volunteers in certain areas; now it’s turning into a great force, which has tested itself by providing assistance to millions of people across our country.”

Khabirov thanked the volunteers for their work to assist those in need during the self-isolation period, having noted that among the volunteers there were some who caught the coronavirus. During the lockdown, about 5 thousand volunteers worked in Bashkiria, over 183 thousand residents received food packages and other help.
