Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree "On the appointment of the nationwide voting on the approval of the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation." It will be held on April 22. Since this date falls on Wednesday, the voting day will be a day off.

The text of the official document says that the question put to the vote will be the following: "Do you approve amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation?"

However, at a meeting with the chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, the country's president outlined one nuance.

"Bearing in mind the difficult epidemiological situation that is developing in the world and one way or another, not such acutely as in other countries but affects our country, we will conduct this voting only if this situation allows us to hold such events. While of the great importance of the amendments to the constitutional law of the country, the most important thing that matters is people's lives and health", said Vladimir Putin.
