Radiy Khabirov: "We will restore our river fleet step by step"

The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov visited the Ufa Shiprepairing and Shipbuilding Plant. The head of the region examined the production facilities of a unique enterprise for the republic and boarded the "Chaika" motor ship under repairs.

Radiy Khabirov instructed to bring the ship's repair to its logical conclusion. On May 1, the ship should open summer navigation, its passengers will be veterans of the river fleet.

According to the river crew, the "Chaika" designed for 150 passengers, will become the largest Bashkir vessel in the navigation of 2020. For now, the ship will run within the Ufa metropolitan area, however, it is planned to include longer routes.

Radiy Khabirov inquired about the state of coastal infrastructure. According to the director of the plant, Ruslan Salikhov, the company is currently going through difficult times - almost the entire group of companies, which includes the plant, is in bankruptcy. Jointly with the Ministry of Land Property RB, shipbuilders developed a program that implies a way out of this procedure and the launch of summer navigation.

Radiy Khabirov emphasized that the republic would not abandon the river fleet to its fate. Returning the ownership of the "Bashkortostan" and "Mullanur Vakhitov" motor ships owned by private individuals to the property of the shipping agency is among current priorities. This question was raised in a conversation with the head of the region by the employees of the enterprise.

"We will restore our river economy carefully, step by step, without haste," said Radiy Khabirov.
