Tajikistan is ready to supply wide range of products, fruit, and vegetables to Bashkiria

A delegation from Tajikistan arrived in the capital of Bashkortostan. The prospects for cooperation between the two regions in the economic and humanitarian spheres were discussed at a meeting in the State Committee RB for Foreign Economic Relations.
The department’s chairman, Ruslan Mirsayapov, met with the deputy chairman of the Khatlon region of the Republic of Tajikistan, Rajabali Rajabov.
“Close business and friendly contacts are established between Bashkortostan and Tajikistan, regular meetings are held,” Ruslan Mirsayapov said. “Over the 11 months of 2019, mutual trade turnover amounted to 34 million US dollars, but this is only our export so far.”
He also noted that Bashkortostan might increase the supply of agricultural products, petrochemicals, woodworking industry, and other goods.
The head of the delegation emphasized that the opportunities for increasing mutual trade between the regions should be quite extensive. There is currently no import from Tajikistan.
The delegation of Tajikistan included representatives of government and business. The meeting was also attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in Ufa, Said Emom Davlat, and the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Ufa, Vener Galiakbarov.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the foreign economic department of Bashkiria invited representatives of the region to take part in international events held in Ufa, such as the Agro-Industrial Forum and the AgroComplex International Forum, the Small Business Forum of the regions of the SCO and BRICS member countries, and the “Time to Export” international forum.
As part of the visit program, the delegation of the Khatlon region met with representatives of the business community of Bashkortostan. The guests visited the Eurasia agricultural park and held talks at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the press service of the State Committee for Foreign Economic Relations informs.
In January-November 2019, the foreign trade turnover between the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Tajikistan amounted to 34 342.1 thousand US dollars, which is 66% more than in the same period of the previous year. Bashkortostan exports to Tajikistan fuel and energy products (38.6%), food products and raw materials (28.3%), wood and wood products (24.2%), chemical products (5.2%) and other goods. As of January 1, 2020, 36 enterprises with capital from the Republic of Tajikistan engaged in trade, transportation, construction, and agriculture are operating in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Since 2011, the Consulate General of the Republic of Tajikistan has been operating in Ufa. 638 students from Tajikistan study at the universities of Bashkortostan.
